Privacy Policy
1. Our approach
Nevertold (the “App”) stores your information encrypted only on your smartphone. There is no account, and we, the provider, never receive and cannot read what you keep in the App (photos and videos, passwords, chats, notes and so on).
2. Information we collect
We do not collect your personal information, usage data or device identifiers. The App contains no advertising, tracking or analytics.
3. Device features
- Photos: used to import the photos and videos you choose, and to delete the originals from the Photos app when you ask it to.
- Face ID / fingerprint: used to open the vault. The operating system performs the check; neither the App nor we receive any face or fingerprint data.
- Clipboard: passwords and other items you copy are cleared after a short time.
4. Network communication
- Password leak check: only when you run it, the first five characters of a value computed from a password (SHA-1) are sent to Have I Been Pwned, a third-party service. The password itself, your ID and the full computed value are never sent.
- Opening a service’s official page from Account checkup connects to that service’s website.
- Premium (auto-renewing subscription): purchases, cancellations and restores are handled through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and are subject to their terms. The App does not send purchase information to us.
- Apart from the above, the App sends no information to us or to any third party.
5. Backups
Backups for switching phones are kept encrypted in a single file and saved to a location you choose (the Files app, a cloud service, etc.). Their handling there is governed by that provider’s terms. Opening a backup requires your password or recovery key.
6. Sharing with third parties
Because we do not collect your information, we never share it with third parties.
7. This website
This website uses no analytics or advertising. It is delivered through Cloudflare, which may process access records (such as IP addresses) to operate the service.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we will let you know together with an update of the App.
